I Am Thankful For...

I joined Brenda Drake's Thanksgiving Blog hop. Why? To write a post about what I'm thankful for and to connect with other writers. I'm thankful for so many things, so I decided to post about the one thing that made the most sense to me.

I'm thankful for readers. And for writers. If I could make a living doing nothing more than reading and writing, I'd be living a dream.

Since that's likely not going to happen, I'll settle for reading as many books as I can and writing as long as the hope still exists that someone, somewhere, wants to read it. (Of course, I'd still write, even if I were the only one that would ever see it.) Storytelling is King.

This certainly isn't a wordy post so I'll leave with a quote. (Yes, I heart quotes.)

I've always thought one had to be a little crazy to be a writer!

Hmm, not sure how I feel about erasing one's "personality" from one's prose. To me "voice" is only as good as it is authentic. I think it's hard to do authentic without at least some of the writer's experience/personality/soul being part of the mix. Food for thought...
